Anchorage Pioneers Oral History Project : oral history transcripts, 1978-1989.

The collection consists of a summary report and transcripts of twenty-four oral history interviews of thirty-one early Anchorage citizens and community leaders. Those interviewed were: Robert Atwood, John Bagoy, Albert Bailey, Glen Barnett, William Brewster, Vanny Davenport, Jean Donatello, Wanda Griffin, Lorene Harrison, Ermalee Hickel, John Johnson, Fred Klouda, Wilda Marston, Steve McCutcheon, Esther McElligot and Esther Wolfe, Frank and Adelheide Pauls, Elmer Rasmuson, Frank Reed, Charles and Inger Ricci, and Charles McMahan, William and Lily Stolt, Richard Strutz, Charles and Molly Tryck, Lucy Whitehead, and John and Dorothy Zappa. Steve McCutcheon was born on August 30, 1911 in Cordova, Alaska. After moving to Anchorage in 1915, he held a variety of jobs and eventually served terms in the Alaska Territorial House and Senate.
